Our Counselling Philosophy
Compassionate Approach
We create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can express yourself freely. Our collaborative therapy style ensures you're an active participant in your healing journey, not just a passive recipient of services.
Neurodiversity-Affirming
We recognize neurodiversity as a natural variation in human cognition. Rather than trying to "fix" or "normalize" neurological differences, we celebrate them while addressing any challenges they may present.

Every neurodiverse person has unique strengths and challenges. We tailor our therapeutic techniques to match your specific needs, learning style, and communication preferences.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our approach centers on accepting and celebrating neurodiversity while providing practical support for challenges.
1
What is neurodiversity-affirming therapy?
Neurodiversity-affirming therapy recognizes neurological differences as natural variations rather than deficits to be fixed. Our approach focuses on accommodating differences, building on strengths, and addressing challenges without pathologizing natural neurodivergent traits.
2
Can therapy help with masking and burnout?
Yes! We specifically address the exhaustion that comes from masking (hiding natural behaviors to appear neurotypical) and provide strategies to reduce burnout. Our therapy creates a safe space where you can be authentically yourself.
3
Do you accept insurance for MSW/RSW services?
Many extended health insurance plans cover sessions with masters-level Registered Social Workers. We provide detailed receipts for insurance claims and encourage you to verify coverage with your provider before beginning therapy.
4
How are treatment plans created and adjusted?
Treatment plans are collaboratively developed during initial sessions based on your goals, strengths, and challenges. We regularly review and adjust these plans to ensure they remain relevant and effective as your needs evolve.
